- 1 oz of snack foods…chips and pretzels (one large handful)
Vegetable group
- ½ cup of broccoli (light bulb)
- ½ cup of raw or cooked vegetables (small fist)
- 1 cup of lettuce (four leaves or tennis ball)
- Medium potato (computer mouse)
Fruit group
- 1 cup of fruit (baseball)
- ½ cup of fruit (tennis ball)
Milk, yogurt, and cheese group
- 1 cup of milk or yogurt (tennis ball)
- Four cubes (dice size)
- Chunk of cheese (2 dominoes)
Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts
- 3 oz of meat (deck of cards or cassette tape)
- 1 small hamburger (woman’s palm)
- ½ of whole chicken breast (woman’s palm)
- 3 oz of fish (check book)
- 1 handful (palm) of nuts
- 2 tbsp of peanut butter (1tsp = one dice)
Fats, oils, and sweets
- 1 tsp of butter (thumb print)
- 1 tbsp mayo or salad dressing (1 spoon)
- 1 oz chocolate (inch cube)
